This is Margo's
favourite chocolate cake
- Ingredients:
1
1/4 cups self-raising flour
3 tablespoons of cornflour
- 2
tablespoons of cocoa
- 1/2
cup of sugar
- 75 g
of butter
- 1/4
cup of milk
- 1/2
cup of water
- 1
tablespoon of golden syrup
- 1/2
teaspoon of vanilla essence
- 1/4
teaspoon of baking soda
1 egg
Instructions:
Turn
your oven on to 180 Celsius. Grease a 20cm tin and line the base
of the tin with wax paper. Sift the corn flour, flour, cocoa and
sugar into a big bowl. Put the butter in a pan and melt it gently.
Take the butter off the heat and add the milk, water syrup,
vanilla and baking soda and mix it together well.
Add
the egg and whisk the mixture until it’s mixed in. Pour the
mixture into the dry ingredients in the bowl and stir it until
it’s all mixed. Then
pour the mixture into the
lined tin and bake for 40 minutes.
When
the cake is cooked turn it out onto a rack to cool.
