Simon loves these when his family has a BBQ.  Everyone makes up their own earlier in the day with their own favourite combinations.

Ingredients:

wooden skewers that have been soaked in water for 2 hours

cubes of plain or marinated meat like chicken, steak or pieces of sausage

chunks of veges like onions, mushrooms, aubergine, peppers, baby tomatoes etc

chunks of fruit like pineapple, mango, and apricot

Instructions:
Carefully slide a combination of meat, vegetables and fruit onto the skewers making up your own interesting mixture.  You can make these earlier in the day and keep them in the refrigerator until a grown up is ready to cook them on the BBQ.  The skewers will need to be sprayed with cooking spray first or brushed with oil.

*Always wash your hands before and after preparing food, especially if you have been handling raw meat.

Notes:
Simon makes his skewers using sausage, mushrooms, baby tomatoes and pineapple.  He would make them just with sausage if his mum would let him :o)
