| There's
nothing quite like fruit and ice cream for dessert, especially in
summer and especially when you've made it yourself! Ingredients
3 large egg yolks
1 cup of caster sugar
600mls of cream
150mls of milk
berries/chocolate chips or a tin of caramel
Method
Beat
the egg yolks and sugar until they're a pale colour and quite
fluffy. Stir in the cream and milk and make sure it's mixed in
well.
For
a berry flavoured ice cream - mash the berries with a little apple
juice and stir them through the ice cream mixture.
Sprinkle
a handful of chocolate chips into the mixture and stir them
through.
Or
drop blobs of caramel into the mixture and stir that
through.
Pour
the ice cream mixture into a freezer-proof container and freeze
fro one hour. Stir the mixture to break up the ice crystals
then re-freeze until the ice cream is firm.
Notes
You may need to leave the ice cream out to soften a little
before you try to serve it or it can be heated for just a few
seconds in the microwave if you need it in a hurry.
