Ingredients
5 middle sized apples, peeled and sliced
cup of brown sugar
teaspoon of cinnamon
4 ounces of butter
cup of sugar
3 eggs
1 cup of self-raising flour
lemon juice
a little grated lemon rind

Instructions
Put the slices of apple in a bowl and sprinkle them with the brown sugar and some lemon juice so they don’t go brown.

In another bowl beat the white sugar, butter, eggs and the lemon rind. Then add the flour and mix it in well. Get someone to help you pour half of the cake mixture into a greased cake tin. Put on half the apple slices. Then have someone help you pour the rest of the cake mixture in. Make the top of the cake flat with the spatula or spoon then use up the rest of the apple slices making a pattern on the top. Bake the cake for 60 minutes at 150 Celsius.

Notes
When it’s cold sift a little icing sugar on top to make it look beautiful.
