Phil
loves mince and especially mince on toast.
- Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon of oil
- 500grams of minced beef
- 1 medium onion, finely
diced
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
- water
- 1 tablespoon of soya sauce
- salt and pepper
- a beef stock cube
- frozen peas and corn or
frozen mixed vegetables
- flour and water for
thickening
Instructions:
Brown the onion and
garlic in the oil, in a fairly big pot.
Tip in the minced beef and stir it occasionally until the
mince is no longer pink. Pour
in enough water to cover the mince and add the soya sauce.
Bring the mince to the boil and let simmer for around 25
minutes or until the meat is tender.
Add the stock cube and then season to taste with the salt
and pepper. Add the
frozen vegetables. Mix
1 tablespoon of flour with a ¼ cup of water and quickly stir this
into the mince to thicken it.
Mix up more thickening if needed.
Cook the mince for a further 5 minutes.
Notes:
This is a great meal
served with mashed potatoes and vegetables and then it makes a
great filling the next day in toasted sandwiches or as mince on
toast.
