500g of beef mince
1 tablespoon of cooking oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 can of peeled tomatoes
- 1 can of pasta sauce
- 1 clove of garlic, crushed
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- salt & pepper
100g of butter
1/2 cup of flour
2 cups of milk
1 cup of grated cheese
pinch of nutmeg
2 cups of uncooked pasta
1 cup of grated cheese for topping
Heat the oil in a fry pan. Lightly fry the onion. Add the mince in
small handfuls to and cook until brown brown. Tip off any excess
fat juices. Add chopped tomatoes, garlic, sugar and pasta sauce
and season to taste.

it to a smooth paste. Add the milk, slowly, mixing to combine. Add
1 cup of grated cheese.
Cook pasta spirals following packet instructions.
Use a large, shallow
casserole dish. Start with a layer of meat sauce, then add a layer
of pasta, then a layer of cheese sauce. Repeat layers. Ending with
a cheese sauce layer.
Top with the extra cup of grated cheese.
Place in moderate oven for 20 minutes to reheat.
